That’s the kind of publicity we love … thank you Sea Swim Cornwall. The whole team has worked hard and we’re all looking forward to this season!

Has to be one of Hayle's...if not Cornwall's best kept secrets. I was at Hayle Lido/Outdoor Pool this week and it was looking dreamy! Temp was around 17 degrees... They open for the season on May 25.

Many congratulations to George who was confirmed as the Mayor's Cadet for 2024-25 at the Hayle Town Council Annual Council Meeting. George, a Year 10 Hayle Academy student, is a Corporal of 1900 (West Cornwall) Squadron, ATC. It was such a pleasure and a privilege to see him being awarded this incredible honour at the meeting this evening by the Mayor, Cllr June Lawrenson-Reid. At last night’s Annual Council Meeting, Cllr June Lawrenson-Reid was elected as Hayle Town Mayor to lead our community forward. Join us in congratulating Mayor June Lawrenson-Reid on this exciting journey ahead. We're also thrilled to announce our new Deputy Mayor is Cllr Jeremy Martin, who will be bringing fresh perspectives and dedication to serving our community.

Cllr Brain Capper led the thanks to Cllr Anne-Marie Rance, who stood down as Hayle Town Mayor towards the end of her second term, and resigned from the council due to ill health. Anne-Marie has been a councillor with HTC for 13 years with nearly two years as Hayle Town Mayor. Thank you Anne-Marie for your many years of service, particularly for your diligence when it comes to planning.

In addition to celebrating our new mayor and deputy mayor, we had the honour of presenting the Mayor's Awards to deserving members of our community:
Citizen of the Year 2024: Jeff Turk
Organisation of the Year 2024: Hayle U3A with particular recognition of the contribution from Lisa Symonds
Young Person of the Year 2024: Emi Hoggett Crisp

We also celebrated the incredible dedication of Councillor Brian Capper, who has served as a town councillor for an astounding 45 years, including two terms as Mayor! Cllr Capper's unwavering commitment and tireless service has left an indelible mark on our community, and we're immensely grateful for his contributions and the time he continues to dedicate to the service of the town.
