120712 | Bloomin' amazing tribute | This is Cornwall
Spotted in The Cornishman Thursday, July 12, 2012
A NEW display in Hayle has been designed to pay tribute to the town's mining heritage.
The beam engine and flower bed on Penpol Terrace were the inspiration of Hayle in Bloom members to acknowledge the area's status as a mining world heritage site.
The beam engine, created by local prop designer, Terry English, was installed last week above the flower bed which was fashioned a few weeks earlier.
The display is the brainchild of members Michael and Ingrid Kemp and Ann-Marie Rance.
Chairman, Margaret Tanner, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the final product and I would like to say a huge thank you to all the members of the group and Terry English for the amazing job."
